IDS is proud to be the principal founder of the Valley Sports Foundation (VSF). This non-profit, charitable organization sponsors athletic functions for the benefit of student athletes, coaches and schools of the Greater San Fernando, Simi, Conejo, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys. Our year-round programming includes sports leagues, tournaments, clinics, and other opportunities serving over 1,000 local high school age athletes annually. Our primary fundraiser is the “Battle of the Valley” High School All-Star basketball games. Sports editors from our advisory panel including The Daily News and Los Angeles Times, recommend the players and coaches for this first-rate event, which pits talented high school seniors in their last high school game. VSF Mission Statement Operate a non-profit foundation to organize youth sports and activities for local area athletics and to solicit tax-exempt contributions from individuals or companies that reside, work or operate in the Greater San Fernando Valley Region. These activities will be in addition to and subordinate to the athletes’ school athletic commitments. All funds raised will be used to pay for costs associated with the various contests, activities and administration of the foundation. Any net profit generated from this enterprise will be contributed to local host schools athletic programs and individual athletes who are deemed to be in need of financial aid by the Board of Directors.
